Have you had the BEST brunch in Charlotte, NC? No offense to breakfast, but it’s a little early in the day for me. Plus I like my first meal of the day washed down with a hot cup of coffee or a blood orange mimosa, tbh. Ohhh yes, I’m talking about brunch, and I just had the most amazing Baked Coconut French Toast at The Bottle Tree in Belmont. Chefs seem to love brunch about as much as we do, and they can get pretty creative with their midday menus on this one. Here’s a ever growing list of my favorite places for brunch that offer a bit beyond the regular pancake:
- The Bottle Tree, Belmont NC: Global inspired cuisine that is oh so creative and good, and a killer biergarten, but be warned, they aren’t open on Sunday! 102 Davis St, Belmont, NC 28012
- Easy Like Sunday, Woodlawn: Newly opened in a great South Charlotte location (tucked under Jason’s Deli), with crowd pleasers like ricotta stuffed french toast and a “short rib benedict”. 1600 E Woodlawn Rd, Ste 100 Charlotte, NC 28209
- Zada Janes, Plaza Midwood: If you live in the Charlotte area, you’ve likely been to this funky eatery for some eggs over sweet potato hash and “soysauge”. If you haven’t tried it, you should! 1601 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205
- Snooze, an AM eatery, Plaza Midwood: Also off Central Ave in PM, this light, bright joint offers some tasty options like Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes. 1331 Central Ave, Ste 100 Charlotte, NC 28205
- Flying Biscuit Cafe, Montford: Yes, it’s a chain, but it’s soooo good. Be prepared for a long wait on the weekends, but their breakfast bowls, vege breke burritos and hot coffee make up for the delay. 4241 Park Rd Charlotte, NC 28209
- Metro Diner, Pineville, Huntersville/Cornelius areas: Okay, another chain that has locations all OVER the south, you know it’s gotta be good. If you’re anywhere near Southeast Charlotte or LKN on a weekend, it’s worth hitting up this traditional American style diner for some delicious grub. From classic Eggs Benedict to Chicken Pot Pie, you’ll find something tasty in 28226! 8334 Pineville-Matthews Rd, Ste 110 Charlotte, NC 28226
- Southern Kitchen, Mount Holly: Only open on Saturdays, it’s worth the short drive out west for down home, country style goodness. If you like things covered, smothered, or heart warming, they are sure to serve it up with a smile. 1015 W. Catawba Ave Mount Holly, North Carolina 28120
- Webb Custom Kitchen, Gastonia NC: Yes, they listened to raving fans and expanded hours! Elevated American fare served in a historic landmark building in downtown G-town, this eatery is a crowd pleasure no matter what time you stroll in. Whenever I have friends or guests over, it’s an easy 4 -star recommendation! 182 S South St, Gastonia, NC 28052
- Maple Street Biscuit Company, Concord: Another crowd pleaser that stretches across multiple states in the South, you will find the lightes, heavenly biscuits topped with true white gravy, along with other classics. My fave? The Five and Dime! (trust me, you’ll thank me later!) 8921 Christenbury Parkway, Concord, NC 28027
- Barrel and Fork, Cornelius-LKN area: They had me a bourbon bacon. But seriously, their 1920’s inspired brunch menu is nothing short of…inspired. 20517 N Main St, Cornelius, NC 28031
